Still not sure what to select?
Starting your practical driving journey can be daunting without proper guidance. Take a moment to explore the various options available and find the one that best fits your needs. With the right support, you'll feel more confident and ready to hit the road. Don't hesitate to make this important step in your driving experience!
A 1-hour driving lesson can be an excellent option for some learners, particularly those with busy schedules or those who prefer shorter, more focused sessions. However, as shown in the breakdown, a significant portion of the lesson is spent on activities other than actual driving.
Time Breakdown of a 1-Hour Lesson
Out of the 60 minutes, approximately 35 minutes are allocated to essential non-practical elements:
-
Drive to training area – 5 minutes
-
Review / Briefing / Recap – 10 minutes
-
Theory / Learning Topic – 10 minutes
-
Demonstration (if required) – 5 minutes
-
Return journey home – 5 minutes
-
Practical driving time – 25 minutes

A 2-hour driving lesson is widely regarded as the most effective option for learners who want to make rapid progress. The fixed elements of each lesson remain the same, but the additional time dramatically increases the amount of practical driving experience.
As experienced Approved Driving Instructors (ADI), we encourage and promote the 2 hour lesson times and have a limited time offer for a block of 10 hours - which covers 5 lessons at a discounted rate

A 2-hour driving lesson is widely regarded as the most effective option for learners who want to make rapid progress. The fixed elements of each lesson remain the same, but the additional time dramatically increases the amount of practical driving experience.
Time Breakdown of a 2-Hour Lesson
Out of the full 120 minutes, approximately 35 minutes are spent on essential lesson components:
-
Drive to training area – 5 minutes
-
Review / Briefing / Recap – 10 minutes
-
Theory / Learning Topic – 10 minutes
-
Demonstration (if required) – 5 minutes
-
Return journey home – 5 minutes
-
Practical driving time – 85 minutes
That is over three times the practical driving gained in a 1-hour lesson.

A 40-hour practical driving crash course is an intensive programme designed to prepare learners for the UK practical driving test in a short period of time. It is ideal for students who want to progress quickly and immerse themselves fully in learning to drive.
A 40-hour crash course is particularly suitable for:
-
Fast learners
-
Students with upcoming test dates
-
People needing a licence quickly
-
Learners with some previous driving experience
-
Those able to commit fully during the training period
This may be very appealing for students with very busy schedules however we do not always recommend this route as it does not guarantee a student will be test ready at the end of the crash course.
This route would not be suitable for learners who struggle with pressure or anxiety. We would recommend a more gradual approach.
